Eclipse 2024 Niagara Heritage Tour Information

The Eclipse 2024 Niagara Heritage Tour is the only Eclipse event that combines the grandeur of Niagara Falls, the divine spectacle of a Total Solar Eclipse,  and timely celebration of faith and resilience, within the African American community, for which the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area is a famous historical crossroads.  

A Documentary is underway, entitled "4:00 Minutes: Eclipse at Niagara", to capture the exciting narratives of this unique event in human history.

All participation and support of this occasion will be acknowledged in our final Edition of the Commemorative Eclipse 2024 Niagara Heritage Tour/ TSE2024Together Handbook.



Itinerary

  • Saturday, April 6th - Arrivals, Check-in 3pm at the Buffalo-Marriott-Niagara, Amherst, NY
    • Attendee Reception , 6-8pm
  • Sunday, April 7 -  African American History Tour provided by Motherland Connextions. Includes Canada. Passport required!!

Evening Banquet at the Marriott, 6:00 - 8:00 pm

  • Monday, April 8
    • Eclipse Viewing- Due to expected heavy traffic,  an itinerary change has been made for departure to the Niagara Falls parks area for the Eclipse Viewing. This update will be shared with the group during Zoom update.
    • Post-Eclipse Reception at the Marriott, 4:00 - 8:00 pm

The Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center is in immediate vicinity of the old International Railway Bridge, over which Harriet Tubman assisted many fugitives to flee to freedom in Canada.   See Video

Disclosures

We regret that we will be unable to accommodate mobility challenges on this tour. There will be moderate walking. Please self-prepare to have a health check-up and inform your physician of your plans to travel to the Buffalo/Niagara Falls, NY and Ontario area, before committing to this travel opportunity!

*We will make every effort to accommodate vegetarian and vegan diets, but cannot guarantee availability at every venue. 

*We will request that attendees wear the Name Tags to be provided. There will be hundreds of tour groups at this event. We want to easily identify everyone in our party!  There will also be optional Tour T-Shirts for sale.

Terms and Conditions 

*No "agenda or campaign" (i.e. gender identity, political affiliation) apparel or banners will be allowed. Alma Mater and Greek Apparel o.k. We will provide a Badge. We will have a diverse audience in our tour group. The focus is on celebrating our COMMON HUMANITY as we fellowship to enjoy an amazing experience.
